How do I a dire wolf?

I'm lvl 15 and just built a base in the north, Heaps of dire wolves around my area.. Can't seem to kill any with iron tools.. Any tips ?

Build a cheap- from sandstone- base w/stairs ( one or two foundations and stairs- or climb to top), place fence around all sides of it. This will stop wolves from attacking you on it- stay back a bit- and use your bow. Thralls can be placed on such, and can even make a "kill zone" using thralls- get agro, run to a thrall on such a pedastal, and let thrall do the work.

Snake arrows are good and cheap to make.

Dont bother with arrow killing wolves. Better off just running them into a pack of deer or 1-2 boars. (North has never been a better place to live at lower level since the eco update)
