Brimstone in the forest area ?

I need brimstone for steel, (i just unlocked steel)... I just moved to the centre of the map , the green foresty area and was wondering if theres any areas there to gather brimstone ?

I know of the salt lake to the north west of the sandy area, but its a trek from where I am, so curious if there is brimstone near me ?

Go tot he Salt Lake.
Part of the idea of survival is making resources scarce. I personally like the idea that some resources can't be found in abundance everywhere.

That said you can get it off of the NPCs and chests (uncommon and in small amounts) as well as some of those demon-bird things further north. You're better off just going to the lake though. It's a 7 minute run or so but you'll get way more and that's all there is right now. There's no indication that any additional will be added anywhere else any time soon either, though I do think we need more at least on the north-eastern part of the map to even it out more.

Take a couple iron picks to the salt lakes and you will get a couple thousand brimstone. Watch for the Rhinos and watch for PvP.

There are also some caves on the starter area that you can mine brimstone. Crocs and boxer mobs are in the caves.

Rocknose mobs also drop brimstone when you harvest them with a pick.

Other than the random drops from NPCs, the answer to the OPs question is...No.

He already stated he is aware of the shattered spirngs location. Ive been all over the north and havent seen any actual sites with brimstone to mine/farm.

Would be kind of nice (and make sense) that farming meteors would give you brimstone also. (Hint to Devs)
