Shemite armor
I just crafted myself a Shemite armor and couldnt be more frustrated. Those are the reasons:

First, the armor has really low armor rate, the pieces have less armor than the Set clothing!

Second.. repairing the armor is virtually inviable, it requires Silk, something is not so easy to gather, and it requires a LOT. I mean, its a 4 piece armor. I used 2-3 silk each part to repair about 10% of its durability, the amont of silk you need to keep your armor is not worth the effort of using it.

well thats not really an armor. its more of an rp outfit just like the zamorian dancers outfit etc.

I dont know, the set clothing is a totally viable armor for characters who carry little and use ranged. It has decent armor and its easy to repair. Why the Shemite clothing cant be the same? RP clothing is something not much applied to a survival game imo, you die, you lose everything

by set armor do you mean the pieces crafted at the Set altar? IE the equipment blessed by a god/demon? Because the stuff crafted at the altars is supposed to be better than it's mundane counterparts. Like the phoenix stamped sword at the mitra altar is obviously better than the iron sword.

The set armor can be crafted at something around lvl 20, and requires very little effort. The Shemite and other armors need specific tier 3 thralls, which is much harder than simply crafting an altar, dont you agree?

It's vanity armor.

Thats not armor, its clothing. And I wouldnt consider the "Set Armor" to be armor either. You can wander around in it and play archer, but the minute some mob gets up close and personal, you'll see how long it lasts.

Its not important if its "armor" or "clothing", thats not the point! The point is that it takes absurd amont of silk to repair AND it has less armor points than a lower level recipe, the Set religious clothing!

Because...you shouldnt be wearing it in combat and getting it damaged. Its a fluff set, you put it on prance around in it, show it off to your friends. It is not battle gear. It is EXACTLY the point.

Victoria's Secret Exiles? :steamhappy:

Sorry, I couldn't help it! This game makes me want to roleplay more than another other game I've played (and that's a lot). Your comment made me smile. I haven't crafted the Shemite armor yet but I am really looking forward to it!

To the OP: just because you don't think role-play clothing or 'social armor' has a place in Conan Exiles (or any survival game) doesn't mean that the Game Director, Art Director, Design Officer, or anyone else in the Creative Development department of a game company agrees with you. Especially in Conan Exiles, a niche game for conan fans and those who want to experience a game world similar to the world concepts of the late Robert E. Howard, where one might expect to find more than just purely "functional" pieces wearable by players, thralls and other NPC's.

That said, if you think that the armor/outfit is too expensive to repair, or that the repair material is too rare, you SHOULD express your opinion here, whether others agree with you or not. Providing feedback for the game helps shape and mold the game, and lead to eventual changes and adjustments wherever necessary.

Personally, all I have to add is that I wouldn't recommend hunting in this armor at lower levels. :)

Shemite clothes repair
I think the repair cost is extremely high, its also Silk something nobody gathers very easly! Just the chest piece takes twice more than a Hyrkanian bow, whats the reason of this? (the other cloth that also takes a ton of silk to craft prolly suffer the same problem)

Some people may argue its an "RP" clothing and you should not be using it on combat because of low stats, thats their opinion and playstyle, if people chose to use it or not its their problem, but the game should not punish you for wearing them.

Surprisingly any steel or iron armor is much easier to repair than cloth! Reduce the repair cost or make it use Fiber, just like the religious clothing.

to be honest i think it should still need silk and have the same cost for repaire but it realy need stats rework, it should give you better sun protection and a bit more deffence or encumbrance ( because of the bagpack ) than the light clothing armor, like how can it be worst when you need legendary armorsmith and higher material.

and for me it's not the only one, all armor should be rework like being specialised in something and not just being more and more powerfull, like this every armor set will be usefull.
TerraSanctum Aug 25, 2017 @ 8:12am
Yes, I agree with you on that, armors need more diversity, not just higher stats.

But still, using a shemite cloth is just inviable the way it is, its a 4 piece set, if you have the entire set at 50% durability.. I would bet you cant repair it for less than 25 - 30 silk, thats a LOT

On the topic of silk.. Hyena Fur Armor requires silk to make and repair as well. Shouldn't it require leather, hide and/or fur ??
