Black Ice Reinforced Stone

I have a question about the upgrade from Reinforced Stone (tier 3) to Black Ice Reinforced Stone since they are the same thing just in different regions. If i carry some tier 3 to the north for my wall and early defences will i be able to upgrade it to Black Ice tier like i am able to do it from tier 2 to tier 3 in the south or will i have to bring the entire thing down and replace it that way?

I don't think it's an upgrade, I think it's an alternate build path.

Not sure but I think the black ice foundation is also insulated so that it keeps you warm, so not really the same thing :)
But I do think you are better off building T2 wood kind instead of aiming for T3 at the start.

It is T3 using Black Ice.
