The only thing you didn't list doing was selecting the recipe and amount to make and then turning it on?
Solomon Hawk Jul 9, 2017 @ 1:12pm
Just wood.
load ingredients
select the recipie.
turn on.

You yourself must know how to make the cauldron/firebowl before you can make ANY recipes in it. You must invest into it or have someone make them for you, then put the items into the cauldron and a fuel and press make recipe,I am guessing you may be using someone elses and you yourself may not actually know how to build a firebowl.

Rip, you'll need to unlock the firebowl cauldron to get the recipies (just in case you haven't done that yet).
In case you played before the change to the firebowl cauldron. They added recipes it works like the other benches now. You need to scroll down steelfire is near the bottom, seclect it choose the amount you wish to make. Then press the start button.

make sure you aren't filtering anything either.

Okay I'm over level 50. I have every recipe for building and crafting armors, weapons, building, furnace, caldron, etc. I crafted my own caldron like I did smiths bench, furnaces, campfire, tanner, etc. I have all recipes for everything except any for caldron. Nothing shows so I can't select it.

I think I misunderstood you.
Aren't you looking for the recipies in the cauldron? (You know, the same way you load hides into the tanner or ironstone into the furnace by pressing E). The recipies should normally show up there once you open it.
There are certain recipies that won't even show up unless you have a medicine man thrall stationed on the cauldron, but they'll show up next to the thrall.

Oden, the caldren no longer works like the Furnace or Tanner. it now works like the blacksmith, armorer or carpenters bench. Ripper as Evgen88 said "make sure you aren't filtering" little icons upper right of right side crafting window all of them should be ticked. Sometimes if you filter in one crafting window it will carry over to another crafting window.

Both of you are right, There is an Alchemist Thrall in the game for the caldrens. The only way to tell them appart from a cook is to see what type thrall they are. Last time I chacked, the Alchemist had the same Icon as a Cook.

correct my when I'm wrong but for steel fire we did not need a thrall in the cauldron.
