Hmmmm as far as i'm aware of the only drawbacks are purely based on ones outlook.
Mitra, chosen god of the Hyborians, purports to be a god of right and justice, but his zealous followers are consumed with expanding his religion at the detriment of all others. Mitra’s followers are given the ability to create sacred statues, clothing and weapons – including the sacred symbol of the Phoenix.
( No idea about mitra's lore drawback. I guess they are over-expansive and set in thier ways.)
Set, the Old Serpent, glories in the ritual sacrifice of humans atop his bloody altars. Set’s followers are granted powers that align with their god, protection from poison and the ability to turn snakes into arrows. (Quite a "cult-like" story, Shadowy, Shady, Sadistic rituals)
Yog, the Lord of Empty Abodes, demands that his followers consume flesh that has been ritually purified. This means the flesh of other humans, and in return, Yog grants his followers blessed weapons and armor.
(In yog lore, Once a month followers were to eat humanoid flesh, Meaning cannibalism as a drawback if you see it this way, Also quite hungry to cut down foes. Bloodlust.)
Crom watches the world from his mountain top, but does not answer prayers and will receive no worship. If you choose Crom as your god at the start of the game, you will not get the knowledge of an acolyte, so he is the god to choose if you do not wish to get involved in the religion system in Conan Exiles.
(Crom doesn't pass judgement for mere mortals yet alone us exiles..
He watches all but does naught, Yet he is still worshipped by many. Drawback- He makes you do it yourself.)
Once again these arent really legit draw-backs and all really how a person sees it.
Theres no like -movement speed, - less health, etc etc.
Too bad I will worship Yog :P.
Actually ambrosia has the same healing value as aloe potions, and bows are not as powerful as they were.
So all religions are just cosmetic with a few useful things. The frost giant and the lust goddess do provide the best utility.. with their transformations. Such as turning ice shards into ice/black ice easier, or the goddess tuning trash drops into useful stuff (like honey or fertilizer)
The only real benefit of Set is the arrows which require no feathers, and the antidote (but depending on your build you'll already be immune to poison with the right perks)
Yog, on the other hand, doesn't get a whole lot on offer, other than what could be said is the most destructive avatar on deck.
The others are sortof all the samey, depending on your flavor of snake cult, skyrim, or fifty shades of grey. All have a better tier 2/3 gear offerings than Mitra or Yog, but don't have any real quality of life upgrades. I can't say much about how effective their avatars are.
So, you have a choice. Want to carebear it up and want healies and discount water? Mitra. Want to f*ck ♥♥♥♥ up? Go Yog. Want something inbetween? Take your pick.
Crom, well. Crom is for people that believe in imaginary gods.
