Hunger and thirst rate
Any ideas on how quickly they deplete? I realize different variables would affect it, like wandering around in a blazing desert and needing more water. I personally find it annoying if it drains too quickly though. If I eat a steak I shouldn't be hungry again in 10 minutes.

No one really knows. But you will be able to put points into reducing the water and food depletion.
As I understand it. If you host your own server you will be able to set the parameters for hunger/thirst rates. No idea how fast they deplate on official servers though. They said in the first stream that if you max out the food bars there will be a grace period before they start to deplate again. But everything is subject to change I guess.

Judging by the stream (#1) stream i believe.
Theres a grace period you get after eating/drinking, Which basically gives you a amount of time that your hunger/thirst will not decrease (The icons turn blue while in grace period)
From what i could tell it was about 5 minutes.
It also took about 5-10minutes to run out of those values after grace period had ended.
Basically this gives you 5minutes to find your next meal/drink without any worry, Due to the grace.

(I'm not sure if they are exact time values, But thats the time it took in stream/realtime of said stream)

The values I have added make it feel more realistic. In the real world water becomes the most important thing and the settings here represent such. Needing water in about 3/4 of the day and food you can do without until about 2-3 days before you start to looses it. Alos the spoil rate has been reduce. The default setting are unrealistic. so I have them last a bit longer before they spoil but not to much longer. Hope this helps.

Curious how this interacts with day cycle length, I play on half speed so the 24 hour cycle is twice as long also with further extended nights to make them longer, not quite 50/50 but more like 70/30 I'd estimate, would you just half your numbers again to get a similar result under those circumstances?
