Using palisades to deter climbers?
Just repost this from the reddit side... 'cos it'll probably get lost in the jumble of threads due to the voting system.

Just an idea for those trying out the new climbing mechanics on testlive. Not sure if anyone has tested this method yet.

Build a defensive ring of platforms around the middle of your base outer walls, then place palisades on them. By right, on contact the palisades should deal damage to climbers and cause them to lose their grip.

If it works then it could be a lower level/cheaper method to defend against climbers (rather than have to level much further to unlock T3 crenelated walls).

Maybe those on testlive can try it out.

I like this idea. I was thinking about this as a way of stopping people climb over the end and not having room to stand on. But I wonder like you if the dmg would make them fall as well.

Just went on Testlive, T3 and Crenlated Walls do not work against climbing. No damage or even knockback effect is applied. I should try this method you mentioned.

Well they shouldnt release it then, if its not working as intended. Simple palisade on top of a wall is probably just as effective as a crenelated wall.

They have already stated that this will be added in when it goes live, they even stated this during the stream.

I'm guessing with all this feedback, there would probably be another hotfix for the testlive server soon. Hopefully it'll solve the outstanding issues and test further before going to official build.

You can break palisades even using your ♥♥♥♥ as an hammer.
