Axe. But on the other hand. Kill rhinos. Their flesh is exotic. Much better

How tough are they? Best weapon i've got is iron warhammer and crossbow with fire bolts.

Rhinos have a ton of hit points but they turn slowly enough to where you can hit them in the sides and away from that horn. I usually kill them without taking any damage. Just look around before starting a fight with one because being crippled by a hyena or spider will make that trick impossible. Also stay away from the black ones, your weapon may well break before you kill one of them.

I've exploit them pretty quick, u go behind a grey rhino. NOT the black one. Hit him from behind and u just rotate yourself to the opposit direction he wants to turn. Easy to kill, good meat. Thick hide is a bonus

Too much MMO dev mentality. "This one is a different color! Let's give it 500k hit points just because!"

either weapon for meat, Pick = for stone/iron and bark from trees as a secondary resource, hatchet/axe = primary use for wood (it harvests more than pick) and yields branches as secondary instead. Also, has a tad higher chance to collect a trophy head.

pickaxe = all the above combined but less durability.
