How to speed up crafting in single player game?

My crafting speed multiplier is on maximum in the server settings tab, but it's still slow as ...

Well, i am not sure if you SHOULD do this, or whether it will work, but if you go to the server ini file, it should have the speed listed. You could increase the number beyond the limits of the server slider bar.

Once again, might be dangerous, might not work.

The crafting speed multiplier, is (for some weird reason) called 'Item Convertion Multiplier'. and the lower it is, the faster you craft.

And XP is a straight multiplier of whatever xp you get. so Higher is more XP. 2.0 will give twice as much XP

The crafting speed slider is a multiplier. If you have it all the way to the right, that means it takes 10x as long to craft, which is why it's slow. Pull it all the way to the left to 0.1 to speed crafting up to the maximum.

One more question - to make NPCs spawn less I need to move the slider to the left or to the right?

Move it too the right. The higher the number the longer before they respawn. Will need to exit game and reenter too see the difference though.

Thread's over a year old, but I thought I was the ONLY one who noticed the large crafting speed difference between SP and Online when using identical settings in the INI. What's up with that?

I don't know, but who cares. In SP you can easily change that in settings. You can find the server settings there.
