It's possible that while the spikes are implemented now they just simply haven't added the item you need to interact with them yet.

Surprising how the devs would implement an item that is basically unusable, being a waste of players talent points. There are many examples of this, the wind chimes don't do anything, the rugs are unable to be placed, along with the trophy heads. Also another example, there's a note, salaceo's instructions, that lead players on a wild goose chase for a treasure that is apparently not even implemented yet. Again, this doesn't make much sense to me because once they do actually add the treasure, most players will be fully aware that it exists and know it's exact location anyway, making the 'secret hidden treasure', quite the opposite. Perhaps the place-able items did actually function correctly at some stage, but they sure don't now, and there's been no word about it. Either the devs are completely unaware or don't mind having useless items in-game.

It's just not in the game atm , and I can't agree more with why add staff that you can't use at this stage why add a wall lantern that you can't make coz one of its part not in the game or glass and dragon bones when you can add simple staff like more banner types or even a different color and sized pots

Coz it's still EA and the development in progress? It's really the least thing bothering me and you can still unlearn your crafting points with a potion and redistribute them.
