Definitely not a complete list. But might give you some idea of what's around. Not sure of the best though.

My question to Crath is , Do your servers run as bad as ping perfects? are you servers able to handle hosting without the horrible rubberbanding? If so im on board.

From my testing last night I personally did not receive any issues, although we are setting up test servers in a bunch of our locations. Could I ask where you are connecting from?

Best Regards,
Curtis.

GTXGaming has been doing well for us, granted we are a small group 5 to 10 max, so it's not like we are taxing the heck out of it. They get updates out promptly, responded to queries quickly, and offered us a well priced plan for our small'sih group.

Hmm, that will be a tricky one. All of our servers are based on the west coast so I cannot guarantee a good ping sadly. I would suggest logging into our server "Nitrous Networks US1" based in buffalo, or our Phoenix AZ server "Nitrous Networks US2" and see how things are.

Curtis.

@Nitrous...

I'm interested in renting my own server, but I'm worried about the current data corruption issue that has killed off several of the official servers.

What's the support process if something like that happened on a Nirous server ? After all the host is not responsible for Funcom's bad code. Would a full wipe and fresh setup be the only solution ?

If it is an issue with the code itself causing corruption then in many cases their is little we can do. When was this issue announced (keeping up with everything on the forums can be hard) as we haven't had any reports of issues in the last 2 days?

Curtis.

Update on the perma down server situation:

We had to shut down several servers that were chain crashing and not rebooting properly. Unfortunately they have corrupted databases so we need to:

1) Fix the issue that caused them to break
2) Patch out the fix for this
3) Manually fix all the servers that this has impacted

This won't be a short process because we need to ensure that the fix works (so this doesn't happen again). I know it sucks not being able to play on servers that have characters you spent a long time leveling up. This is one of our top priorities at the moment (along with fixing server performance in general). We will let you know as soon as the servers come back up.

We weren't affected by this issue on any of our servers. I will however warn you that regular forced map wipes will happen with an early access game such as this, as well as quirky issues and bugs like the one you posted.

Best Regards,
Curtis

Where did they post this? Trying to get information on stuff is really hard hehe, Reddit, Steam discussions, Twitter...

Added the Link in my original post....it was tricky to find since for whatever reason they don't keep an official thread about the issue (bad press probably) and you gotta pull everything out of their noses.

Thanks Curtis.

I'm used to Alpha/Beta games, but the current trainwreck reminds me of the early 2000s when server stability still was a prime issue in mmos. And I haven't seen such fundamental performance problems from any company in a long while.

I will think about it and make my decision about renting a server later today.

Not a problem, we have a few test servers setup and running in various locations around the globe, so make sure to hop and check them out if you are worried about ping or stability issues.

Curtis.
