How do I update my dedicated server properly? [Solved]

I assume just use SteamCMD to reinstall the server, but will that wipe my progress or my configs?

I'd like an answer to this as well. The patch notes just say "restart your servers".... does that mean they auto update? Or is there more to it?

Just update the same way you install your server. Saved everything and updated properly.

If the patch says to just restart your server then just restart your server. If you had to install anything it would have been included in what he said.

Some servers probably get updated but a reboot is needed.

Mine was running fine pre-patch, and I had to update, not just restart. Now it's working.

Run SteamCMD, Type the following into steamcmd (Pressing Enter after each line.)

login anonymous

force_install_dir C:\PATH TO FOLDER THAT CONTAINS SERVER

app_update 443030 validate

quit

Only type quit once it is finished updating

Using the validate after the game ID will make sure it only updates and installs the new content, without validate it may re-download all the original files causing it to take a much longer time.
