CPU Load / Temps
Got a Skylake i7 6700K 4.0GHz and a Corsair Hydroseries H60 liquid cooler...


For some reason playing the game on low or even ultra the game makes my CPU run at 96 Degrees 6...

Other games I play stay at about 75 Degrees C (I.e. Escape from Tarkov)

Anyone got any explination for this? Is it just unoptimised and adds more strain on my CPU than GPU?

Early Access. Welcome to early access. Optimization for CPU and RAM normally starts really kicking in about the 6 month to a year mark on steam EA games. This is why your not suppose to buy EA games if you don't know the risks. Same with the net code, in ark it took months just to get 50 FPS with a premo machine, first few months you were lucky to get 30 fps in that game it was jsut so awfull on your machine back then.

Dude I have no doubt about it being a good game after optimisations, i wonder if anyone else Is having these problems?

This game seems to use all of my 12 Threads of my 5820K.

The physical cores load is about 50-90%, While the logical cores are at 10-40%

TL:DR if your CPU gets PROPERLY used your CPU will generate ofc more heat.

My CPU temp is about 60° with a H110 and 1,318V with 4,4GHz allcore.

2x120mm Noctua Fans at 800RPM.

75 is way too high to begin with and 90 is insane for a CPU

U have a major problem with your computer. I am using the Skylake i7 6700k with a Cooler Master 212 Evo and getting 48 Degrees max avg is 37. On games I get around that depending on how intensive the game is. This is very unusal as well because the game is a gpu intensive game. You might wanna check out your pc and make sure the thermal paste is done or even redo it. Carry on with that temperature and the cpu will burn out.

80°C is nothing for a CPU under load. Even 90°C would be OK (but I would prefer less for 24/7 usage).

My idle temp is 27°C, normal game temp about 40-50° and render/compute temp about 75°.

most intel CPU start to thermal throttle at 105°C as long your CPU doesn't throttle its clock then its within its intended range. Once it starts to throttle, that will mean that it slows itself down to stay at non critical conditions.

BTW I am talking here about individual core temp not socket temp, socket temp is specified for 1151 with 65°C (which is still far away if some of your cores are at 80°C).

Checked my thermal paste. not applied properly / thick enough, testing now guys!

Dude Cooler + CPU staying at 35 Degrees C now!

And GPU at 70 (So Normal)

I didn't think It was thermal as ive applied paste 3 times now (1st was what was pre applied by the manufacturer (was a thin layer on the cooler) and I took my sync (pump block/sync) and there was hardly any on (I must of miss calculated how much i would need)

ANYWAY all fixed now! Paste and a good amount and all done :)

My liquid cooled i7 4770K hasn't reached my custom shutdown point at 89C yet running with everything up and vsync on, and this liquid cooler needs replaced soon.

yes my cpu never exceeded over 50°C. Right now its 45°C.

Mine definatly dosn't need replacing... Its fixed and ive only had it like 1 month max

So you fixed your temps. It doesnt go to 96 anymore ? If it does .. you need to fix this.

Na man! 40 tops (CPU Temp) on Conan now (On Ultra Settings, Fully Maxed out)
