CE is an online survival game, like Ark. So no skill trees, classes, or something...
sry i'm out.
No skilltree or classes no mmo....
There are basic characteristics that you improve (strength etc.). Those affect your character's performance in the world and in PvP/PvE.
There is also open-world building system (build where you want, or where it's allowed, i.e. not in the event dungeons etc.). You character is progressing, gaining XP, but you need to eat and drink to survive and maintain health level. There are different tiers of mobs, big boss-kind mobs and dungeons. It's just not a classic MMORPG, it's a more action/interaction based game. But with some ideas from the classic MMORPG genre. It's different.
AoC turned out to become a fantastic game in 2010-2011 I played the hell out of it, but obvciously it was a game in a different genre so of course they are completely different.
