3rd party security software Battleye

Seriously, I gotta install 3rd party software against "cheating"? I'm very distrustful of that kind of thing, if it were built in, fine, but a separate install thingie is suspicious.

Battleye is used for quite a few of these games on steam. You don't need to download it though, I think. There are servers that don't use it, but I do think all of the funcom run servers use them.

If you want to play on servers which have a decent Cheat-protection than BattleEye is state of the art. Most of the Cheat-Distributors are not supporting games protected by BattleEye. They've given up on developing cheats for BE-protected Games. But yes, it comes with the downside of installing a third-party solution.

But from my point of view BattleEye is working great and I personally trust this company for not misusing any data they might gather from my PC. But this is mostly in cause that I've a full separated Game-PC without any Office-Applications or personal/financial Data stored on it.
