Im sorry to say that is an incredibly inconvient flaw in the design. Making a large world in which you can have up to 100 players (according to settings) but forcing everyone to stay within 100 feet of you is downright silly. I have played other survival co-op open worlds and never had a tether distance required.
The offical multiplayer servers all allow many players at once with all their own individual perspectives, but currently were unplayable due to massive lag, constant rollbacks, and stuttering. I tried hosting my own server and starting a game, so that me and other interested friends could at least check out the game without the massive lag, and they are forced to stay right next to me or get pulled and pushed around like dolls!!! Its completely unplayable unless you all are moving together, which is simply not something people want to do the entire time.
I purchased the Barbarian Edition of this game, watched the dev streams, and was incredibly excited to play. But if i cant host a co-op local server to play with friends and not have them forced to stand within a small radius I consider it money wasted :(
I urge you to please change this ASAP, because in almost every other way the game is really wonderful.

Oh oh oh! How is the RPG Core Book?
Server hosting costs money , they can't pay for everyone and there mother private co-op server. There some options you can set up a free Dedicated server throguh steam It's a bit of a challange but its free. Or you can pay a website to host a server few bucks a month and handle all the server side of stuff. some hosts you can pay for a year very cheap and install mutlible games on them like ARK or what ever game.
I just be suprised if they change the teather thing on local , I dont think its something they can just flip a switch and change over night. every surivval game was always like this i played , running your own server was the fix ! Nitrado is what i use
Could we get a response on the current rubber banding and lack of server performance? I see devs and communtiy mods are active but no one is saying anything.. and servers haven't been reset.
