How to join a clan

How do you join a clan or invite people? I've held E over a friend and nothing appears or happens.

walk upto someone, face to face and the option will show up, I watched a streamer do this earlier.

Their name pops up but what key do you use to activate it?

Use E key

Using E does nothing.

The Clan Leader need to go to the "new member" and press "e".
Then the "new member" will get a dropdown-box who he can accept or reject
