how to kill the hydra boss in dregs dungeon and how to get abysmal fang

i tried slashing away using a full iron durability sword and arrows on hydra and it wouldnt die, and i have no idea how to get abysmal fang or what the abysmal remnant is

I killed it with the Set Poison Arrows. After watching different video walk throughs on YouTube and posted here, I was surprized it died as quickly as it did. only used about 10 poison arrows and 40 of the regular iron tipped ones. Never got to they point where it lunged at me to use a sword as shown in the walk throughs.

if u walk close too it it will actived a melee atac where he jumps out off the pool and lay down on the floor a couple sec

repeat that till u killed him

Yes, just checked in game a little while ago and out of a stack of 100 snake arrows, I used 4. The rest were regular Iron tipped Arrows and I got about 50 of those off before it did die. It never lunged at me they way it did in the walk through videos. I did walk towards it several times and was unsuccessful at getting the melee attack to work. But the single player version is still a bit buggy and lags badly in that dungeon.
