I'd really like something like this with animated animals ... The nichelings are cute but tragically static. The difference to a classic browser breeding game is minimal, unfortunately.
And yet, it's the best you can find since otherwise you only find complex and realistic genetics in browser games where the animals aren't even 3D but only pictures with cookie cutter skins in different colors :-(

It's too bad that Stray Fawn Studios most unique game hasn't got a sequel. There isn't any other game quite like it and it was a heck of a lot of fun! Personally I don't like their other games, the market is flooded with similar titles.

I am starving for another game like Niche, and a sequel would feed me well. I love genetics games, but so many of them are purely appearance-focused. It's so natural to marry the mechanics to survival gameplay, which is another beloved genre for me.
