Lets start our game theories thread! *spoilers heavy*

I was wondering if any of you guys would like to share your theories about the game and what we will expect in the next episode as it stopped in a huge cliffhanger.

I've been wondering who the strange girl who's been following us is, but remember after finishing the main game without the bonus chapter, there was a short cutscene where the girl with black hair said "You seem disappointing, did you really think I was your sister?" This line made me wonder who she really is. My sister says it could be the mother.. but I don't know.

Here is my theory: I think the girl is someone who died long ago and was buried in that coffin we find underneath the house, her name is Elizabeth too because in the bonus chapter the man called her as 'little Liz' when he went all crazy and started to believe her. So she share the same name as the mother who was lured into this house by that family and was knocked up somehow (but since it was close to that tombs area, i'd assume it was a demon)

I'm assuming the 3rd sister Dahlia was possessed by this girl, this is why she was wild, but after she died in that fire, she was unleashed and went after the mother, then the 2nd sister, now she is after the main character to kill them all? but for what reason?

I'd like to discuss this with you guys until we get the demo for the 2nd episode :D I'm so excited to learn more about this story!

Another thought and theory, could 'the girl' be the doll? because in one of the trailers she said to Holly, "You followed the hints from an animated scary doll, and you are surprised you didn't end up in a happy place."

Also Holly did mention in the game that her mother gave each one of them a doll in the Christmas, and she lost her's! You find Heather's doll when you first enter her house, and Dahlia's doll in her room upstairs in the grandparents house. So could this strange girl be actually your doll? I really hope not because it won't make sense.

I was wondering as well. Where was 'tape #2' we only found the first tape and then the 3rd one. Do you think someone hide it? Because in the recent trailer, the mother was recording in tape #2, but we never got a hold on it.

The mother was impregnated by a demon, and next door neighbour Lauder .... forgot his name, but he sold the grandparents that property for 1/2 price, and he must have been involved with black magic and satanic rituals.
The mother, Elisabeth has no recollection of having sex, and tells Holly that she has no father.

Holly has no recollection of her mother's supposed suicide.
Is Holly tainted with black magic too?
Is she really Holly? And if not, then who is she?

After playing the demo, I think the whole game is about ghosts, not just the evil girl. At first I thought she'll be the dead sister who's been abandoned but no, seems there is something else going around. and why whoever she is around they die after? Do you think it is Holly's turn to die now?

In the demo after you enter the asylum the door is locked behind you after a creepy scene of the guard room stuff moving around. Which means there are many ghosts around. and that journal is investigating in paranormal activity? means it is all about ghosts which made me go meh for a moment.

Well...
For me this game is about sadness, loss and missed chances.

Holly lost her sister ...years ago.
Her mother committed suicide in her presence. Or did she?
Third sister locked away. Why? So sad.
The grandparents had a row about a trivial thing.
He died before they could make up.

Holly seems to be the only one not having made choices.
Except reacting to the letter from her dead sister.

Perhaps we will learn more about Holly and her loss of memory.
And the Lauders are they really evil? Or trying to contain evil?
Or something else altogether?

One day you will know.

Oh yeah I feel there is a sadness part in the game. However I don't think the mother committed suicide, she wanted to take the girls away from the house so I think that evil girl possessed Holly or the mother and killed her to stop her from doing that?

What if the Lauders family actually summoned this ghost girl who she relate to them and died years ago and they wanted her to reborn through Holly's mother, this is why Charles was shocked when he learned she had three babies instead of one.

Yes, the plot thickens! So many questions, what did really happen in the past, and what is going on now ......
The mother did not commit suicide, she was stopped and killed before she could escape.
Question is: Why?

I remember a little hint dropped by the developer some time ago that Holly may not be who we think she is .... so, I really do want to find out the "truth" in Part 2.
Yes, the story is about sadness, loneliness, tragedy, possible ghosts, and some evil/demonic entities. Superbly put together and it keeps me on the edge of my seat .....
Hurry up Devs, I want more! Pretty please! :)

Oh yeah! How did i forget that it is tape 2 XD so she recorded it and we didn't get the chance to hear it yet in the game.

"He said you are doomed" Who do you think she refer to? Charles since she keep talking about him.

Also in the demo Holly mentioned something when she wrote that page about the ghost girl, she said 'i'm not sure if she is following me or i'm following her'

What if this ghost girl want to tell us something? Like a big secret in the asylum and how they torture patients.

My sister says, what if we are controlling Daliah and Holly is the one who was in the asylum XD my sister's theories are unique haha. I'd be surprised if it turn out right!

One thing I forgot to mention. The mother's hair is black, and the girls has blonde hair like Holly's so hmm the ghost has black hair just like the mother. Could this be Dhaliah? although Holly said in the demo the girl standing with her mother in the asylum look like her and Heather so the ghost girl can be someone else. Could be the mother herself just like what my sister suggested the other day.

If you look closely at the mother's hand when she pressed the tape recording button, it look like the same hand the ghost girl have when she used it on the same recorder before the end of the game. Here is a link of the demo and the beginning cutscene with the girl's hand.

Yes, I think that "you are doomed" refers to Charles Laudius.
The ghost girl or the evil entity is an enigma at this stage. Somehow she is connected to Holly.
I think the Big Secret starts well before the Asylum, well before the mother gets pregnant with tripplets.

Hey, your sister could be right! It could have been Holly in the Asylum .....

As to the hair colour, all 3 daughters being blonde, and the mother and evil/ghost girl having dark/black hair is also interesting.

Initially, I thought Dahlia was the evil girl, but now I am not sure. I remember that Dahlia was afraid of the evil girl in the Asylum. Possibly the evil girl possessed Dahlia, but then Dahlia was kept locked up in the house .... Not sure re timeline here.

Yes, I think the evil girl is someone else, tied to the past, the underground ritual burial, underneath grandparents' house.

I think the mother was an innocent victim, and that Charles had definitely something to do with drawing her into this evil, and then he got scared himself when he saw the results, aka the tripplets, instead of twins being born.

Wish the legals would hurry up, and Part 2 was available!

OK, I am replaying the game again, due to completion of my nominations, and having nominated "True Fear" as you suggested, Feena, for the Best Creepy Game.

In Act 1, there is a letter to Holly, supposedly from her twin sister, Heather, that says: "You will Learn the Truth about You". We see the photo of the twins, and suddenly Holly's face turns demonic.

At the sister's abandoned house, we hear a message recorded from Dark Falls Asylum: " ..... So sad you didn't come to see Us. I guess We have to come to see You Now"!
Who is/are: US and WE ??????

The recurring dream for both Holly and Heather, and Holly feeling the Asylum is familiar, yet she was never there, nor her sister. Or, Was She ?????

And lastly in Act 1, Heather's diary note saying:" She understands Me. She promised to help Me Get Revenge"!

Wow ...... Plot thickens and thickens!
