How much harder is Gear Grinder?
I've played MvM, just not without a ticket and found it to be pretty easy. I just recently got a couple tickets, how much harder is "expert"? Thanks :)

it's what the mode is called, you need expert mvm players to do well in this..

if you think advanced missions are easy, go ahead and try.

its a ♥♥♥♥♥ ... There is no room for impatient kiddies or whiners . You have to be at the top of your game and everyone has to be playing the map as intended using the proper positioning of things like sentries and dispensers , everyone with a canteen , properly filled etc etc.

It gives you absolutely no quarter.

Its great!

I like it - it breeds an ammount of respect between the players because it is hard for everyone. But you will find it difficult - simple as that.

Best way to find out for yourself in boot camp before you dip your manned up bread. With the new selection screen its easy to boot camp into whichever round and whichever mission you want.

Ugh that sounds terrible.

It's hard, but very fun.

Communication much easier if everyone has a mic that's for sure. There will be lots of adapting, and if a particular strat doesn't work, you'll probably restart the mission. If you got a team that can laugh at mistakes and improve at every wave failure you'll get to the end no problem.

I've always found Avanced to be easy... Gear Grinder is a humbling experience!

It makes the old tour look like garbage.
Never tried it, but hell, i'll try them just for profits

I managed to get 2 missions from the tour complete this evening with a very capable team. We had to do some of the rounds a few times to get the plan sorted - desperation is hard but not rediculous. Mannslaughter is just rediculous and I would guess is the hardest mission of all.

Expert is really hard compared to the other modes. It's always good to have a good Demoknight on your team who has the Zatoichi though. Demoknights are massive damage dealers to giants ant tanks, (especially giant soldiers and the fists of steel heavies), and they're good for taking out the medics. You have to be good though to be a useful Demoknight. A lot of people under-estimate him, but here's a short clip I uploaded of me being Dr\emoknight:

Also smart to have a brass beast heavy with the rocket deflection and a kritz medic; medic isn't mandatory, but is useful as hell. Just beat Mannworks on expert with a brass beast heavy; kritz medic; wrangler engineer; scout with soda popper, mad milk, and fan o war; a demoman with sticky launcher; and me being demoknight.
