Is Tour of Duty even worth it?
With Tour of Duty tickets costing from 1.33-1.66 ref or 2 for a key (if you can even find someone selling for 1.33, which is rare...), is the payout even worth it? You need 6 tickets to get a botkiller, so that's 3 keys...and not one strange silver botkiller is worth that much. The chance of getting a gold is so rare, and even then, thats only about a 200% profit increase (gold botkiller is on average 9 keys, let's say).

Profit wise, is there even a point in doing these tours anymore, now that the prices have stabilized?

Playing for profit = no.
Mann-up is good because there's no F2P. I'm not saying that there's no noob there, just much better than bootcamp.

If you enjoy man up but don't care for botkiller etc just find one map which you don't like and complete all the other missions and you are allowed to do those missions over and over again.

as long as you don't complete the tour you won't use anymore tickets at that point.

Huh, I'd never even thought about doing that...

I'm basically doing mecha engie over and over and never completing decoy.

Quit right before you kill the last few bots on last wave if you really just want to stretch that dollar. I think the ticket price is fine but the surplus makes no sense to me, $2 for what is almost guaranteed to be a stock (.5 scrap) item? No thanks.

Its just a number. Number proves penis size. You also get better players that are more serious about playing.

Its not really too expensive, the flip side is that if it were cheaper, the botkillers you'd get wouldn't just be low priced, they'd be worthless, so making it cheaper solves nothing, it only makes it worse.

You don't play mann up for profit, it just doesn't add up. Every botkiller regular is 1-2 tickets at most, every high end botkiller prize can be bought for the equivalent of 1-2 tours of ticket/key value. Especially the 6 ticket tours, which are effectively 3 keys a tour, its just way way cheaper to buy a gold than hope for that 1/20 tour chance of getting lucky.

Golds really are under priced...

You play mann up for fun, nothing more

Echoing the others; play it for fun, not for profit. If you got a buck lying around it's not that bad. I've had tons of fun and met lots of great players on tours. Don't be fooled, you will find the occasional moron but I've finished Oil Spill without a moron in sight.

If you want the botkillers just buy tour tickets and trade those off, but earning one isn't bad either.

I bought 2 tickets with 2 keys... was that stupid?
Yeah... speaking in monetary value, the keys are worth 5 dollars rounded together, and the tickets are 2 dollars rounded. Not sure about metal value, but more than likely you lost on that one.

For people like me in Asia and Australia, Mann Up also means endless 300+ ping servers and endless waiting time to get matched - up to 40 minutes, sometimes. It's ridiculous. I now have a stable group of people I play with and we can breeze through expert. No point in playing tours where most of the time the groups are not good enough to get anything done.

Worth it? Not really. I mean sure if you're grinding for botkillers and even then the trend has gone towards Robohats so Botkillers are yesterdays fashion trend.

And what exactly Robohats have to do with Botkillers weapons and MVM? Nothing except with the association of the word robot.

No FUD please.

Nope, botkillers are still useful as any strange...a weapon is a better investment than most hats which are tossed aside within weeks....most robo hats which came from the crate are now craft hats.

The other hats which only drop from mvm aren't particularly high demand either, weapons > hats unless unusual.

Anyways, you haven't finished a tour since I met you it seems.:P

Hmmm, let's see, Pay cash for a the same game mode that is already free. Or play free version and use money to purchase new fun games like Oh Idunno:

- Awesomenauts
- Serious Same Triple Pack
- Legends of Grimrock
- Don't Starve
- System Shock 2

Just to pull a couple off the top of my head. See that's why I have no plans on opening any crates. It doesn't change the gameplay in TF2. Iand it costs money that would logically be better spent on something that provides a new and fun gameplay experience as opposed to the same repetitive grind. For all the talk of Botkillers, I can't remember the last time I saw anyone actually using one, in MvM or PvP.

You must play on quickplay pub servers if you don't see botkillers. They aren't rare, and people who have them, don't exactly hide them;)

Like it or not there is a difference between a good mann up team and bootcamp with pubs.
Start_Running 2013 年 6 月 21 日 下午 7:26
Well let's put it this way. I've played quite a few a games in MvM and PVP and strangely enough I can count the botkillers I've seen

Well, put it this way, sometimes you can choose what you see by who you associate with;)
