Do people play MvM Mecha Engine a lot?
I was thinking of buying some tickets to have a go and get a nice Silver MKII botkiller but the last time I played it in mann up was so long a go and people might not even play it anymore. So I'm wondering, is it even worth buying them in the first place?

Since there's a chance of getting an australium weapon on advanced/expert missions, I'm sure people play more on Mecha Engine than on another mission, as it only requires 3 tickets and it's not so hard to complete.

Buying the tickets? Sure yes, you can go on others missions if it fail. But if you give me some green the sky over Mecha Engine will be blue.

bigrock needs everyone to contribute. one or two idiots can easily ruin an entire game regardless of the rest of the team.

two cities is newer and has better rewards.

these two reasons make it kinda unpopular.

it's an amazing mission but you will need a real team to both have fun and roll it

I might need to call some homies then and set a day to play :D

I don't think Two Cities gives better rewards as there is a very small chance of getting an australium; the rest of the rewards (random killstreak kit, specialized/professional killstreak fabricator, robot parts) are the most known for filling up the backpack and wasting lots of tickets.

pro killstreaks are alot more valuable than botkillers especially on popular weapons

and killstreaks for newly released reskins weapons can bring some decent money

There's a few good players playing mecha, they're vastly outnumbered by the terminally clueless though.

You're probably better grabbing a couple of friends to help you unless you want to roll the dice a few times on the randoms.

Mecha engine is my favourite mvm tour by far, the maps are thought out and its challenging. The problem is that the servers are destitutal and the 5 or so servers running the tour is often dominanted by clueless, ignorant people so I don't get much of a chance to play it much. And when I say clueless ignorant people I don't mean the new, inexperienced player who is responsive and listens to advice; im talking about the trash talking 9 year old who complains through most of the mission and will often open with the line "play medic or we will ban you".

https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198105898127/screenshots/ - The screenshot of my last mecha engine mission. It was the first advanced mission for the heavy, scout and the second for the sniper and look how well they performed. Thats because they coorporated.

There are plenty of players, but the majority of them are braindead and can't get past the first wave of broken parts, any many of them are still ignorant of even some of the most basic game mechanics.

Mecha Engine was a bit of a wasteland last year but I think it's been better this year since the drops changed.

You'll run into good players occasionally, but in general you can count on having to carry most random teams.

The first wave usually isn't too much trouble, on wave 2 you can expect the end of the line.

find a couple of friends to play with. it will help you significantly overcome the 'jenkins/noob lobby' problem.

2-3 people who have each others backs with regards to both playing and explaining strats to newer people goes a long way.

but to answer your question: people play mecha engine.

There are quite a few decent players, though sadly there are too many bad players on Mecha Engine...

I was just in a game with some randoms on Broken Parts where I told them you can refund before the start of wave 1, you just have to press the minus at the upgrade station. Naturally these 0/1 tours knew better and, despite me arguing, they just decided to call me b1tchy instead, when I was simply trying to help.

90 minutes later (yes, really) a 178 tour joined, who tried to tell them their setup didn't work. They didn't care and ended up kicking him. Seriously.

I only stayed in the game for about 2 hours as it was amusing watching them fail over and over again. They couldn't get past wave 2.

... so unless you have some friends who are actually willing to communicate, or if you know you can get a decent team setup, I wouldn't get your hopes up
