Need Help With Waves Breakdown
Hello! I've been trying to learn MVM and how the waves work and I was watching a video of this guy melting down robots - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T5udOC4lcso&t=3s&ab_channel=BrutalPizza
Also, referencing the Wiki for Hamlet map - https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Hamlet_Hostility_(mission)

So, I understand waves are split into sub waves marked with: A,B,C,D.

1. On the first wave, looking at the map ''Count'' for robot scouts, it says: 6, 18, 30 (spawns in group, max alive at a time, total - so the total number robot scouts for 1A is 30 and there are 13 more left, looking at the video. The remaining 13 robot scouts are going to spawn when 1C starts. What does ''1/2'' mean on the map break down for scout robots for 1C?
Also, the map breakdown doesn't say how many robot scouts are on 1C and I only know their number because of that guy's video. Unlike the map breakdown of 1A for scouts, where it says their total number. But the map breakdown doesn't display the total number of robot scouts for 1C. Or I can't see it, when looking at the map breakdown.

2. Looking at the video, after killing the giant Soldier from 1A, soldiers from 1A and the giant Demoman with uber medics from 1B spawn at the same time, even though the map breakdown says that 1B begins after 1A. Why robots from 1A and 1B spawn at the same time, even if it says otherwise?
Also, soldiers from 1A keep spawning after giant Demoman with uber medics from 1B have appeared.

3. For some robots the map breakdown says they spawn on the right. for others it's not specified. Are robots with non-specified spawn location spawning randomly?

4. Are there any groups that offer boot camp training with an experienced player? Because so far we're all noobs at boot camp and some times we can't even pass the first wave. Not to mention that because we can't manage to keep up, learning the waves is even harder.

Thanks in advance and sorry for the long post.

1: this scout spawn you mention is a Randomchoice spawn that spawns scouts and I think Extended Buff Banner soldiers with a 1|1 probability.

2: This is due to the fact that both 1B spawns wait for all of 1A to spawn.

3: Rottenburg has 2 spawns, it's main spawn and the flank spawn. if it says they spawn from the right they come from this flank spawn.

4: Generally you have to get lucky. Hamlet Wave 1 & 2 is quite difficult overall. Perhaps I could help if you run into me.

Additionally you'll not need to know how everything works internally. That's perhaps only required for lowman runs.

I think there is some misunderstanding here.

1. Why are you mentioning 1|1 soldiers? Map breakdown references 1/2 for both, soldiers and scouts. I just want to know what 1/2 means, exactly. I also wanted to know why first sub wave shows the number of scouts in it and second doesn't

2. I know that they should wait but why are they dropping together? Shouldn't the next sub wave wait for the previous sub wave to finish? I am referencing the video.

3. I am aware that there are two spawns and I know where they are. I am not asking about that.
Also, I do understand that if it says they spawn from right they will, in fact spawn there, I mentioned that too. I wanted to know about the robots which spawn location is not mentioned in the map breakdown (but instead just shows ''—'') - is it assumed they will spawn on the left or randomly on either side? In any case that guy from the video knew exactly where all robots are, not just the robots whose spawn location is clearly mentioned in the amp breakdown.

4. I am just looking for another way to learn the waves, other than playing with other noobs like me. Being overwhelmed with robots and dying often, while trying to save the wave last second doesn't give me a learning experience, just chaos.

1 It randomly spawns soldiers and scouts. half the time they are scouts, half the time they are buff soldiers.

2 They will eventually drop together because 2nd sub is merely waiting for all of those bots to have been spawned, not killed.

3 On Rottenburg there's no spawn that covers both of blu's entry points.

4 best way to learn is by doing. Though there are also tutorials on how to play classes. May I recommend underscore's tutorials: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3q13SL70mb8&t=114s Heavy is also the easiest to play in MvM.
If all you are trying to learn is where robots spawn from, the best way would be to just play the game over and over and over.
Reading through pages of how the mission spawns in the bots isnt going to do you any favors whatsoever.

Like mentioned you dont need to specifically know how they all spawn unless you want to get into the other more niche playstyles like lowmans and speedruns.

The players in the video you linked are all long time players; high tours with thousands of tours/hours of gameplay experience.
If you want to be like that, just start putting in the time and you will learn most of it naturally.

Nice guide. I know the basic/best used loadouts.

I like Demoman and I'd like to learn to play him better, as well as learn to play Engi. I think these two classes are a bit more tricky to learn to play better in MvM.

Yep, I am aware that these people have been playing for a long time and done thousands of tours.
I don't want to learn only where robots spawn. But that is something I want to be prepared of. I do want to learn Demoman and I'd like to learn to place stickies in time and at the right spot.

I do look at the wave breakdown so I know what comes and with what buff, and the icons mean in general, not just to know where robots spawn.

Practise is best way to learn, no doubt.

For the icon just look at the wiki page for robots. It's not that difficult to pick up. Ultimately for demoman, it's better to learn where and when to place stickies for any situation.
