is Mann Up worth it?
We all know mann up mode, but is it worth a dollar? In my opinion no, as it is extremely hard to finish with almost no reward unless completing a tour

editing this like years later: I hate the 3 year younger me. Why am I like this?

Your question is objective, it depends on whether you enjoy the challenge and rewards of Mann Up.
You will find most people that enjoy Mann Up Mode and play it regularly find Boot Camp a complete waste, and vice versa for BC players.

I play Mann Up mainly because getting into an Expert Bootcamp mission takes forever, and a lot of servers now allow 10 people, which sucks the challenge out of it.

If you play on the non-Two Cities tours you'll get a weapon or a uncommon chance for a hat. In Two Cities you get that plus some robot parts and a chance for a specialized fabricator.

Hardly a fair change for a dollar but at least is not overpriced like the surplus voucher.

For the Two Cities Tour Completion, you'll receive 1 Weapon Kit + 1 Special Kit (also if you got it by "Mann Up"-Loot / completing the tour).
if you've Luck, you can receive (only on Tour Completion, not for completing only one Mission) with a low chance a Professional Kit and / or lowest chance a strange australium Weapon (golden Weapon) or if Gaben loves you.. a golden Frying Pan.

And yes, MVM is sometimes hard to finish, if you got the wrong Team / Players or missing the Teamplay.

I only play Mann Up because that's where most of the decent players are.

Worth it, if you have luck AND enjoy a lot of playing.

Most of the time you will be able to buy new tickets with your loot, so 5-10 bucks are enough for one month of MvM.

PS: This only applys to the 2Cities tour

I was talking about Mission Completion since he said "worth a dollar"

Some people say its hard to complete a tour but hey if you dont like the group your in then leave and join again and get a new group. I mean you wont loose your ticket until you complete a map.

I find it worth to play it, even though i myself don't play for profit. I play for the botkillers and for fun.

As well as to be able to avoid those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 10-player servers, they just take the challenge out of the game mode and makes me learn bad habits.

As well as the have a dcent chance to get good teammates, in boot camp i end up with noobs pretty much all the time.

Oh, that many.

Or 10. I did see someone get 10 once.

Not to me. I like MvM, and I like that the pool of informed players is higher in Mann Up, but it's not worth $1 per game. And the sell-loot-buy-tickets cycle is too much of a craps-shoot and too much like a second job for my tastes. That's why I've been replaying since the beginning of the year.

the problem with australiums is by the time you found your second or third, it's been very long and they're not worth much anymore

it's only super beneficial on the first three months after a new update

That suggests you get any in the first place. having only 41 tours I really cannot be upset about not finding one yet (the ones I have, I bought). I have some mvm friends with around about the 250 mark who have only found one and it makes you really wonder how rare australiums really are.

I've been browsing the market a lot for australiums and observing price variations... they go down sure... but not by that much, a majority of the australiums are still around about 80 USD and have been like that for a while. Heck i was looking at a sniper rifle... still expensive as can be.

A single 1 dollar ticket will buy you a LOT of play time, my friend, and the noobs their aren't nearly as bad in boot camp. Today I met a hypocratic medic (Hippocrates oath reference, anyone?) in ghost town. Complained that the medic only healed the heavy, goes from solly to medic, begins holding M1 one heavy.

You always get one weapon (or hat), so the number of parts is limited to 9.

Not limited to 9. Once in my 145 tours, I got 13 items so you had to use the scroll bar to see it all. First time all of us have seen it, but it is possible.
