They arent gray for another reason. Uber and Crit effects looks weird in gray.

Also, in attack/defense maps, BLU is always on offense and RED is always on defense.
In MvM, the human players are the ones defending while the robots are the ones trying to deliver the bomb. So that's why humans are RED and robots are BLU.
