Why is Mecha Engine Hard?
It isn't. Player retention is why it takes so many tries. Someone gets upset that we can't beat a wave and they leave, causing everyone else to leave as well. Idk how many times I've queued for it just for people to quit. I've seen this most in Gear Grinder but now it's a problem here too. I just wanna finish my tour.

Broken Parts is plays like Expert with double money.
Doesn't help that not every player knows how to buy resistances at the appropriate time.
In addition, if one comes from Two Cities thinking it plays the same, they'd be horribly mistaken when there's a critical bot(s) that can just straight up kill you if you're unprepared, and it's in all waves.
Bone Shaker is when plays like Advanced, except people don't know what to upgrade or how to divide the team to defend the front/cave and to deal with the tank on wave 2, let alone if they actually get past wave 1.
Gear Grinder has it worse tho, at least in Mecha Engine you have more than enough money to win

It's a 3 mission advanced tour, so it attracts new/inexperienced players. The bulk of random teams are going to get stuck on broken parts wave 2.

With Gear Grinder, you play on the older maps as well, that rely more heavily on the blue arrows, which some newer players aren't aware of and because there isn't a tutorial to cover this sort of information, regarding bomb paths, spawns, etc., they will often build in places that aren't beneficial to the team or the team plays in more disadvantageous areas. Although Mecha Engine does have a Decoy mission (Disintegration), the biggest concerns for that mission will be scouts and engineers. At least in Desperation, there are more bots that use their weapons, though they don't take the top spawns nearly as much. Of course like the other missions in Mecha, you get a lot of money, especially after wave 5 and there's only one bomber carrier on the last wave.

At least with BigRock, unless your team manages to let multiple bots past them out of the cave, then the blue arrows aren't much of a concern, not unlike the maps in Two Cities.

Even in Gear Grinder, the money count isn't too bad, all things considered, though Mecha Engine basically dumps a lot of cash, leaving a lot of room for error, though a really decent sniper can easily clean up the front, which should help for others focusing on the tank. Of course, there will still need to be one other person to help block giants to prevent the engineer bots from spawning or lose the front.

Other than what I wanted to add, I absolutely agree with everything that you've said before, given that Broken Parts really plays like a trap for those who believe that Mecha will be very similar to Two Cities.

At least wave 2 and 6 have some down time for the medic to pick up the cash for the scout, I guess. He certainly gets overtime on wave 3 and 4.
