Team Fortress 2
Rocket specialist in MvM
I dont want to start arguaments but is rocket specialist a worthwhile upgrade in MvM? Players seem to have started not using it so much.

Of course it's worthwhile. Even with the Beggar's, lack of fall-off on rockets is huge when fighting giants and Tanks from afar (although ramp-up is nice too). Plus you can act as a Super Scout soft counter with the stun attribute, but it'll be a little harder against pairs or more.

The problem is that all these perks come with the first point, including a 15% rocket speed boost and +15% splash radius. Next points only add more speed and splash on your rockets, which aren't worth $300 anymore.

What? No.
I play without Rocket Specialist all the time. You can still do everything a Soldier with RS can except stun, which isn't that big of a deal.
Lack of damage fall-off is nice but not neccesary.

Tours dont gauge experience.

I feel uncomfortable without a 1 point of rocket specialist, also this is the reason for kick the player from the server to be honest. I see you have couple badges MvM missions and both are 1st tour, I can only assume that you are not experienced enough.
Rocket Specialist is something you get because you like it. It is nowhere near a reason to kick. A Soldier can outdamage the whole team, but because he doesn't have Rocket Speciallist to provide a crutch for people who can't bodyblock means he gets kicked? Horrible reason.
I repeat tours. I market tickets so they don't get used up. 1 tour is to play Expert, another was an accident.
I have Silicon Slaughter. I think that says enough.

Not realy, here no info how and where you got it. Can just farm robots on easy mission or server with inv money, no matter. Badges, only badges will make people trust you, as in real life, it does not matter until you provide the documents.

Counter Argument: You could have played all the games with the same class, same team and same strategy over and over again. This inceases your "badge" but doesnt increase your skill in any way since you do the same thing repeated.

The Tour count is nothing more but a increment how much tickets you spent on Mann Up.

And Rocket Specialist is a crutch upgrade for bad soldiers. It is a nice to have, but no reason to be kicked for and isnt required in the slighest for playing Soldier.

Keep in mind, Oil Spill, Steel Trap, Mecha Engine and Gear Grinder were all before Two Cities and the upgrade rocket specialist. All soldiers played without it, and it worked fine.

Both tours and bots killed can be farmed. So yes, both are flawed ways of determining skill. So instead of judging based on tours or bots killed and derailing the topic, lets judge based on the arguments presented.
I get rocket spec mid/late game. It's a horrible waste of money early.

The reason I am asking is because on Botbash with the 4 soldier meta I regularly out damage soldier with rocket specialist and Im wondering if its an upgrade that sounds good but in truth is of no real benefit.

Was said before. First point is most beneficial. The last 3 not so much.
