Is HDR really worth it?

I just got a new computer, and on my last one I had to run TF2 at the lowest settings possible to make it run well.
On this new computer I set the settings to what it reccemends, and one of the choices is High Definition Range, and some of my friends have been saying theres almost no difference and take up your FPS. When I have it enabled to full (which is reccemended) I get about an average of 40 fps, where I want 60. So is HDR worth enabling?

Not really. I only use HDR in games with medicore graphics like Fallout to make it look prettier. You can't really tell it's there in a much more fast-paced game like TF2.
