What are the odds of getting an hat in a drop ?

Hey im just wondering if anyone knew what the odds are of getting a hat in a drop because ive only gotten 2 in a drop. And i think i should have gotten it more times because i have payed tf2 for almost 700 hours.

On more than two years logging drops, seems the average is a hat drops every two months.

However the intevals are really elastic. I've had hat drop with intervals varying from a week to 216 days between hat drops.

Just be happy when it happens.

well ive only gotten 2 hats and that was about 2 years ago

I've gotten 1 hat and 1 taunt in 1342 hours of playing.

I heard it happens every 1 to 6 months. I think it might be a bit below 6 but that's just because I've been lucky with hat drops, finding them every 2-3 months.

Yeah, i dropped like 5 and i have 960 hours of playtime.

2 hats in 425 hrs of playtime. funnily enough, both scout-exclusive(milkman and hermes), the one class i very much despise.

I've gotten 4 in 1,000 hours. Judging by everyone else's finds I'll assume it's about a 1 - 2.5% chance.
