Why does my TF2 keep freezing?
It happens pretty often. I will be playing and everything will freeze and glitch up. A sound will play over an over for about 15 seconds and then everything will go back to normal... Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a quick fix to it?

Thank you

Is this a recent thing?
How recent do you mean? I just started playing TF2 again as of about a week or 2 ago... But it has been happening since I have been playing
It could be a couple of things. Does it happen in single player? Does it happen on multiple servers?
Never played single player, but it has happened in just about every game i have played.. Whether is MvM or Mulitplayer doesnt make a difference either. I dont use one specific server either
I'm not sure if it would work or not, but you could try verifying your game cache to see if it needs to fix any corrupted files.
How would i go about that?

One reason that I can think of it that im not running the best of video cards... granted its not bad at all because i just built this comp (laptop) but maybe it cant keep up with some things and freezes up at times?

That's possible too. But first try verifying your game cache by right clicking on Team Fortress 2 then going to your game properties, then go to your local files tab and press the verify game cache button. Don't be surprised if it takes awhile when it reaches the end. If it didn't download anything then there were no corrupted files.

If nothing happens, tell me what your specs are.
so i did that, didnt seem to dl a whole lot... There is a also a button to defragment cache files, should i try that as well?

I also just realized that my SSD was gettin pretty full so im moving some files over ot my secondary storage HD and gonna see if that helps any

This happens a lot with source engine games that have online play. GMod does this too. Its the internet connection.
If the TF2 files are on your SSD drive don't defrag it. Defragging SSD (Steam defrag or normal defrag) will shorten the life of a drive. If it's on a regular drive, yes. If you haven't defragged the drive TF2 is on, you might want to try that too.
All steam files are on the SSD... would it affect anything (for better or worse) to move them to the regular drive? steam is 15.1 GB and would be nice to open that much room up on the SSD
No it won't hurt anything. You'll just need to point the game to the new drive which isn't hard to do.

Yeah I'm having the same problem as it keeps crashing after 15 to 30 minutes of playing a server and I've already done verifying my game cache and it didn't show anything. What do I need to do in order to get it to stop crashing on me?
