Are you launching with -dxlevel command in place? It will always reset your screen resolution until you take it out. (The command will continue to work but the screen resolution should go back to normal). If you are not useing that previously stated command I'm not quite sure how to fix the problem.

Is it just -dxlevel 0 to stop it?

No don't do that. It's a command you use outside of tf2 before you start it. If you don't know then its not your problem I guess.

As for the screen resolution maybe there's a command you can put into your auto exec that will automatically put the right size.

Alright ill just keep changing its not that bad a problem
no you remove the dxcommand after using it once, or else it will overwrite all your settings to default for the chosen dxlevel each and every time.

Just type in pre-launch settings
-width *number* -height *number*
Instance:
-width 1440 -height 900
