Team Fortress 2

(Solved!) Can't install custom HUDs on SteamPipe TF2?
I wish to install DoodleHUD and whenever I go into game it shows up as stock HUD. But it doesn't uninstall it. Am I installing it in the wrong location (steamapps/common/team fortress 2)?

EDIT: A lovely man/woman in the comments has answered! You can leave a comment here and we will attempt to help you. Cheers!

your custom stuff goes in steamapps/common/team fortress 2/tf/custom folder. So make a new folder and put the files (materials, resources, scripts etc) in there.

The full directory should be something like this:
steamapps/common/team fortress 2/tf/custom/DoodleHUD/<insert those files here>.

That worked! Cheers!
For future reference and others: Do not put root sub folders into /custom. I made a folder called "Twitch Fortress" and put all my mods in there. Works great!

i tried this tutorial but it doesn't work for me, it loads stock hud, btw, i use pvhud, anybody help or provide a more explanatory tutorial?

if you're using an installer, might want to see if it's updated because the path might be wrong. if you're using .vpk just place that file in tf/custom directly (no need to make a new folder).

Let me try to grasp this concept:
So mods in general should go in the "custom" folder?
Do I put the downloads, materials, models, particles, and sounds (I have a lot of mods) folders all into this "custom" folder?
Or is there anything else I need to do?

you put them in a subfolder of "custom"

or you can you use multiple subfolders to organize mods

Thank you very much, it works for me now. Had to make the subfolder, that's what I was doing wrong.

Every time I try to do this, my tf2 crashes during the loading screen. I am using PVhud and I can't seem to figure it out why it keeps doing that.

Ok I just removed the pvhud and it keeps crashing still. I need help!
