How Do I Improve My Aim As A Scout?
I'm not sure if this is the correct place to be asking this but I'm going to give this a shot. I just became a PC gamer about a week ago. When I played on systems like Xbox or Playstation I tended to go for the FPS games. I had nice aim but for some reason that means nothing now that I am a PC gamer.

I just got into Team Fortress 2 and I play as the scout class. My problem is as stated above my aim is horrible. Don't get me wrong, I do get kills as the scout but that's only sometimes. If anyone would be so kind to help me out, how can I improve my aim as a scout?

Try messing with the mouse sensitivity, if its too high you'll fly past them, too slow you won't hit him in time. And if you're more comfortable with a controller tf2 supports controller on PC, so if you don't like the mouse I'd consider doing that

Somebody I know took the low-tech solution of taping two long thin pieces of thread across their monitor (in a + shape) to precisely be over the crosshairs. He doesn't miss very often. He no longer needs them anymore.

Like Steeming said, mess with your mouse sensitivity. That is if your using the KBM and not a controller. If your using a controller that could be your problem and I would recommend you use the KBM instead. Learning the KBM takes a little getting use to but it's worth it. Also, you just started playing this game and I would recommend you switch to the soldier class to start and do the training mode and practice offline with bots to improve your aim.

I've played as most of the other classes and I did well with them online. The scout seems to be my issue. If you don't mind me asking, what should I adjust my mouse's sensitivity to and how would I go about doing that? I have a PC not a MAC by the way.
Pretty much what everyone's saying. Mouse sensitivity should be set to how fast you think you should react, if you're used to a slow steady mouse when on the computer try setting it at the middle, if you prefer a fast mouse and can keep up with it go higher, but don't set it to the point where you have to drag the mouse across the mousepad several times just to turn 90 degrees. I can't give a specific, everyone's is different. A,so like enigmantic said, training mode first, practice a bit with bots, and if you're to the point where you can successfully carry the team then go to online. That's how I did it and never regret it. It's painful watching snipers who can't snipe, medics who don't know how to charge, engineers who don't know how to upgrade... You get the point. However the scout is a nice class to start with, not much trick to just running around shooting, but aiming is key, so in simple form
1: mess with mouse sensitivity
2: practice with bots
3: go online
Cheers

For me, I've "learned" that it isn't "my aim" that is necessarily bad (I think I can aim "pretty good" whenever the FPS is good), but I'm just "lazy" in actually the "aiming" part.

I guess it is because I also learned to use the "strafe keys" to help with the aiming, so my mind just goes lazy. However, whenever I actually put "effort" into actually "aiming", I do pretty "good".
Mess with the mouse sensitivity, most of the pro scouts use lower mouse sensitivity.

I'd put your mouse sensitivity low, but start training yourself to flick the mouse as fast as possible to turn, this way you can react and turn fast, but have a nice steady aim, personally i play at 800dpi , which is low, but i do great.

the reason you were a good aim on consoles is because they have aim assist, its very slight, but there. basically it locks on to your target slightly when you hover over them, that doesn't exist on pc games

Heres some tips for scout because im bored:

learn how to track and out-pace your enemy, learn to double jump quickly, and change direction toward the backs of your target. when you're in combat, always double jump aswell, unless trying to escape

FLANK YOUR ENEMIES: this is the most important tip, you need to know the map you're playings layout well, and use it to your advantage, use the scouts speed to go through back ways and get behind your foe, kill some people, run away, flank, repeat.

learn to use your pistol aswell, or cleaver once you get better. I would also stick to the stock scatter gun, dont use the other scout primarys

last tip is to know how battles will play out with the other classes, stay away from soldiers, sticky demos, pyros , mini sentries (and big ones) and heavies, youll eventually be able to deal with them easily (although sentries are a problem for scouts,) pyros will likley give you the most problems, if they are decent.

man that was a lot of words

You're awesome.

For aiming, you want to be using your strafe keys, "A" and "D" and not your mouse. Get them into your crosshair and it's much easier to get a good shot on them.

Be warned that it can be quite noticeable if you're relying heavily on strafing to mirror movement, and that in turn makes you far more predictable -- dangerous considering that as a scout, you don't want to be tanking damage unless you've just used Bonk!. Your manuevability and thus unpredictability and evasion are not to be lightly discarded.

...oh, and stay the heck away from Dustbowl.

Don't aim unless needed. Position yourself so they're in your crosshairs or let them do it for you.
Consoles are a joke, they have aim assist because thumbsticks are inaccurate by default.

You just need good frame rate and practice.
