The problem with chronically online tf2 players
I see many people talk about how tf2 has a welcoming community. However, this game is one of the most negative games I've played. So many slurs and other rude things are said to people (although they typically deserve it). But I'm sure this has been talked about to death already. Instead, I'd like to talk about cheaters.

When people realize that another player is cheating, they react very differently. Some will requeue and move on, and others will lose their ♥♥♥♥. I'm going to discuss the latter. These chronically online individuals go ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ whenever they notice a cheater in their beloved "timeless classic". Some will make death threats, or leave comments outside of the game on their profile. Maybe even go as far as to encourage the doxxing of this individual.

However, at the end of the day, it doesn't matter. So what if someone put some unfair advantage into their game? This is tf2, a bot filled game with no support from the devs, and you freak out this much over a cheater? It's depressing, honestly. I hope that these players can realize what they're doing, and quit it. I'm not requesting you be nice to cheaters. I'm requesting that you stop being unnecessarily rude to them, and just ignore them. Take a break from the game if needed. Just calm down, because you make a big deal out a situation that can be resolved by a few clicks to the main menu.

Small update, bot hosters are NOT posting CP links. This video explains the situation correctly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmhD8zfX_4g

This is like saying school bullies who say “your mom fat lol” should be sentenced for 3 years in prison and a public stoning for hurting 8 classmates

the fact that there is a group of people looking to doxx someone over an image mocking the tf2 community and because of his bots is disgusting. its also disgusting how the community itself promotes this type of behavior. they are literally committing cyber crimes to attempt to get someones personal information

Agreed. I probably should've brought this situation up in my post. Cheating and posting an image to mock the community (which they deserve by the way) is not deserving of something this horrible.

this isn't exclusive in tf2

True. I don’t expect this post to achieve anything, but I’d like to at least discuss it.

True, it’s disgusting how tf2 players are willing to do crimes over a 17 year old video game.

i means cheaters are annoying but you can always just step back from the game if you get frustrated. i think it's a big sign of immaturity when people argue with cheaters and spout hateful diatribes instead of realizing "hey, this person wants me to react to them"

it also doesn't help when a big portion of this games playerbase is addicted to it :p

Immaturity, that’s a good word to describe them.

This is a good example of what I’m talking about. You do realize all they’re doing is cheating in a video game, right? At worst the bots are a minor inconvenience. This isn’t deserving of doxxing. The fact that this crime is accepted and encouraged in this community is absolutely terrible…
