are item drops marketable?
I'm getting items i don't want and need to know if i should just scrap them to get more worth out of them or if i can market them after like a week or something.

No.
If you open crates then you can do what you want with those items.

my Ol' Snaggletooth hat I got from a drop isn't marketable but is tradeable. so the answer is no.
This also applies to weapons I believe.

The answer is Yes, actually!
Paints can be found from the item drop system and those can be listed on the community market, as well as name and description tags and giftapults.

Other than crates, the only drops that are marketable are paint cans and tools (name tags, giftapults, etc) but the drop rate for those is "maybe a few per year" kinda thing.

And crates are only really worth anything the first few hours after they're added.

And many years down the line, depending on what it has.
