I cant Tell sarcasm so If you are genuinly asking, they are calling mannco.store a scam becouse sometimes you get underpaid for items
You will never receive a vac ban for using steam official features such as trade offers.
He's pointing out the same thing I did, and for some reason talking about how sellers are underpaid, when you're only here to talk about buying, so don't worry about the underpayment yet, that doesn't apply to you.
Like I said earlier so long as you use a marketplace that's actually well known the chances are practically zero. Marketplace.tf, mann.co store, skinport for example, are reputable markets. Use these to check the item price and buy whatever you want off the one selling it the cheapest. Don't log into dodgy websites with your steam account, and you'll be fine.
Mann co store tends to much more trustworthy than other thirdparty item sellers from my experience.
If you have ever had a situation where you didn't recieve a trade offer from the bot when attempting to claim your items you should contact their support.
The big risk of third party trade sites is that they don't have control over steam's item servers or apis so if things get stolen or break the best they can do is reimburse you.
There was a huge problem with steam's login api awhile ago where hackers could abuse it to gain access to linked accountss on various sites using the feature which caused a lot of trading site's to lose a lot of their inventory.
Unlike most other trading sites mannco store when hit with this actually reimbursed their users for lost items with actual currency equivalent to the price it would've sold at.
They didn't need to considering the entire issue revolved around something valve screwed up but since valve is a lazy piece of ♥♥♥♥ that won't even give back stolen items when you open a steam support ticket mannco pretty much decided to take the burden.
That being said, you do risk things when using any third party site, it's best to approach all of them with a skeptic mindset.
but afaik using the official steam api for "login in with steam" shouldn't pose a risk to your account. If the site asks you directly for your steam username and login: RUN
You shouldn't log in to any website with any of your accounts! If you ever get a login prompt and instead of directing you to a one-click Steam page that just has you confirm your identity it asks you to enter your login information do not do it!
