Is trading down right now?
I can't use marketplace tf right now. Scrap tf says that the API is down and trading is disabled.

Yes it is.
And I’m glad it is.
I just finished trading on backpack.tf to get rid of a lot of old cases. Idk

Valve had done something that flagged all the trade-bots with a community ban from trading. Backpack.tf bots were also hit by it. They are working to getting the accounts unbanned - but you never know, maybe it was intentional.

It should stay down, I think.

Valve probably banned all bots as a late response to the mannco store incident

What was the mannco store incident? Sorry out of the loop when it comes to this kind of stuff.

+1 for that

funny how valve is really tryin to kill trading, and with that tf2 (even tho tf2 is been on its zombie legs for eyars now). first it was sites like bazaar shutting down due to "some stupid API" last year (wow, feels longer then that), then theres the "cant trade ingame" bug that hasnt been fixed for ages, now this...

how do they expect us to trade? the trade subforum? lol, no. thats full of people that dont know prices or are sellin low stuff like normal hats. i know there a few good people there, but im not swimming in a river of turds to try and find a golden nugget.... being i may accidentally pick up the other kid of nugget.... lol

ingame tradin is a slog now. needing to add or find the other persons trade offer... just fix the dam trading already...

TL;DR Someone hijacked Mannco's bots and started emptying them, a community trade ban was placed on all bots temporarily while the situation was being sorted out. Hundreds if not thousands in items were lost and Valve was most likely flooded with support requests because the site owners went completely radio silent and just put up a banner that said under maintenence while this was all unfolding.

I found a thread on backpack talking about it here:

Personal opinion? Maybe I've just spent too much time on the darkweb version of reddit but this to me seems like an insider tried to pull an exit scam which was covered as a hack. In the end it got sorted out for the most part but honestly it killed what little trust I still had for external websites.

head up, puttin the irl link may get you a perm forum ban. its happens to me.... 3 times.... 2 times within a week linking that and the other trade site. luckly a appeal allowed me back within the day

but about the hax. i think thats something every tf2 player "what if i could" thought they may of had ones or twice. never expect it to ever happen. my guess is its a insider problem or a haxer got lucky/to good

Yeah, thanks. Forgot Valve is very triggered by external trading sites.
Still the thread is not hard to find, it's the second result on google.
