Backcapping is Nooby?

I was playing one day on a normal dustbowl server, we were on the second stage, and our opponents were really going at it with heavys and medics ect. My team was full of snipers and spies ect. They were spawn camping us, so I used Bonk! Atomic Punch to "backcap"" the point, as all our opponnents were focused on spawn. Afterward, they are STILL spawncamping, so I try backcapping again. After a few trys, I manage to break through their defences, and, upon reaching the end, I realized they had NO defenses on the second point, and I capped it easily. But throughout all this, I was being called a "noob" and a "stupid backcapping scout." Do I deserve all this flak? Or should thay have just defended better?

Not your fault they were too busy trying to get kills rather than defending

They're just mad because you beat them so easily. It's a very fair tactic, and it's why I hate when I'm on defense and my team tries to spawncamp BLU.

When I had a bad P.C. I played this map a lot, because it seemed to lag less than other maps, and this is the first time I actually saw this happen, but thanks for the info.

It is "nooby" to not notice and bother to interfere with multiple obvious attempts at back-capping by a single player.

It is a skilled tactic used by spys and scouts when the enemy is pushing or the team is killing crazy, I recommend you install more engineers.

There's a nooby side to backcapping, but it has nothing to with the backcappers themselves. It's those that overextend and spawncamp leaving objectives unguarded that are the real noobs, though veteran players tend to do this as well.
