What's the best way to get Refined Metal?

I want to get a Tour of Duty ticket, but I don't want to pay actual money for one round of a gamemode

1 refined metal = 18 weapons. Just playing to get random drops will eventually give you refined metals (you get 5-12 drops per week, on average ~7). Since you have premium, sometimes you'll be getting more valuable drops too. Of course, this still will take a long time to get a ticket, right now it costs 32 ref so you might need to gather metal for like 2 years.

You could earn something by trading, but it doesn't give much nowadays, since people at servers aren't usually inclined to trade (escrow doesn't help either) and bots have largelt overtaken the "sell for more buy for less" niche for customers who seek specific items.

There are also raffles, but they also give mere scraps. At best you'll get an extra scrap or two per week.

Overall, ways to get tickets "for free" are fairly limited. It's probably easier to get an IRL job (even one-time) to earn $1 and buy the ticket with that.

Mann Up is just gambling but if you really want that ticket it's best to get a job irl, alternatively, ask for a steam gift card for you b-day or holiday of choice. If these aren't available in your country you can always take 2D/3D art commissions in exchange for marketable items or refined metal.

I don't know how I didn't think of 3D art before. I've just done it recently AND I enjoy SFM

Best two ways of getting easy metal is just waiting on item drops or selling off any stranges/ cosmetics you own that you won't use regularly enough to warrant owning a strange varient.

Also do not go into Mann up mode unless you have bought multiple tickets (I would say 6 at a minimum) one ticket only equals to one part of a tour irc so you need multiple tickets to do a full tour, I don't remember which tours score you and Aussie but you want like 2 tickets to spare once you've finished your tour so you can either make your next tour cheaper or so you can sell/ trade them off to make a bit of profit back if you don't even get any good kits or weapon drops
