How Many People Don't Care About TF2's Economy?
When I think about TF2, I don't think about the prices of items dropping, I just think about having fun. I really don't get the whole deal about the TF2 economy. An economy crash? Why do you care about an event like that happening?

Thank christ I'm not the only one. I frequent the forums usually looking for something interesting but all I see is meltdowns about key prices and the economy.

To be fair, a lot of people have poured a lot of money into the game and if the 'economy' crashes then they lose quite a bit. As for me, I've got a lot of the in-game items I want and trading just seems like a waste of my time that I could spend improving my skills with a certain class.

Generally in this forum people will say that keys raising was a sign that the economy was dying.....the truth is actually what are we living right now, keys dropping is what really means that the economy is dying...keys dropping means that there's less demand for keys and more likely means that less players are trading

Actually supply just outweighed demand because of christmas, children and their steam money, etc.

Back to the thread, I don't care too much about it. What happens happens, but I do get annoyed when people don't understand it.

I doubt that it was because of alot of people buying normal keys in xmas, I was checking the community market and the number of Buyers is almost 5x times bigger than the number of Sellers......only logical explanations of why it seems that metal is revaluing itself is that either people used alot of Refined in the events to try to craft new cosmetics, or maybe the new trend of hoarders was hoarding crapton of metal

As long as I can get things for reasonable prices, I'm not bothered. I get more hats for my $2.50? Fine by me.

I do trading yet scarcely care if there's any 'economy crash', not that it actually will happen of course. Only the greediest and the noobiest of traders actually care about their goods they traded for devaluing. That's the problem with most traders, they buy their items for their value, not considering that they will inevitably devalue, rather than choosing their items based on what they actually like outside of appearing rich.

Eg. Nooby traders who use the australium tomislav. Is it a good weapon? NO. Does it look good? NO. They simply buy it to appear rich, thinking this grants them some superior status above others. It is these kids who rage hard when their 'amazing' items lose value against the mighty key.

The key situation is just demand and supply shoved in your face. You can learn this as a kid.

^This.

Ever since stranges were added to the market, I know longer care about the economy. All you have to do is sell a few trading cards for most of the stuff you could ever want or save up money. Trading is only useful if you want something of high valve (like unusuals) and even then you still have to deal with people only looking to scam you. Screw the economy.

About one and a half years ago, i was obsessed with it, but then i managed to stop caring, and i find the game more enjoyable than ever.

What I hate is when people quit TF2 for trading purposes. Trading is a side activity to the bigger picture. This is an FPS team based game.

I don't care at all for the economy.

I turn my weapon drops into metal, build up to about 2~ ref, buy a hat or two and then eventually I combine 2 hats that I don't use anymore to make one new one.

I don't care at all about hat prices really, I just make metal, trade for cheap hats and craft. Phree hets4lyfe.

I've never cared but it's still fun to tell the "keys cost too much ref" morons why they're wrong.
