Why Demoman doesn't have dreads (Theory)
Okay so me and my friend have discussed this for a while, but we came to the (kind of) conclusions to why Demoman doesn't have dreadlocks.

Spoilers for:
Team Fortress 2
Scotland
NBA 2K

Theory(s):

There's apparently history that Scottish people had dreads or something (idk if its true cause I only saw a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ tumblr post complaining about white people with dreads, and a reddit post). But anyway, Demoman doesn't have dreads, because Soldier took them. Now, back in the early days of tf2, Demoman and Soldier were opps, they had beef, it was like Bloods vs Crips, Pokemon Red vs Blue, Ryu vs Ken, Coke vs Pepsi, extreme beef like that. So after Demoman and Soldier was fighting (BEFORE TF2), Soldier shot a crocket at Demoman’s head and his dreads took the hit, and protected him from explosion damage like his shields. That is theory 1. And to proof theory 1, look at Soldier’s War-Pig cosmetic, the sides of it are actually dreadlocks if you look hard enough, and I believe there might be signs of Demoman’s dreads in other soldier cosmetics

Theory 2 is more out there, but bear with me. In 1968, dreads weren’t a very popular hairstyle, in fact dreads weren’t popular in the 60s, they were in the seventies. It wasn’t until the seventies, until Bob Marley would put dreads on, and made them cool. Back in my day, if you had dreads in the west, you were laughed at, and bullied, but after Bob Marley put dreads on, everyone has them. Demoman, being the trend chaser he is (He straight up copied Soldier’s flow), decides to get dreads, and that’s the reasoning for the existence of the ‘Reggaelator’ cosmetic, Demoman wanted to have dreads to be more popular than Soldier (Soldier currently has the yee yee ass fade rn, so that’s why he wears his helmet like that) and it kinda worked. There’s Demomen, and Demoknights running around like the 49ers on 2Fort, and other places.

Demoman is an englishman, he cannot wear dreads, it would be cultural appropriation.

Jit, you're not slick, look at theory 2. Also Reggaelator is not real dreads, just fake clip on dreads

Why would he have nasty dreds? Demoman is a violent drunk man. Not a homeless bum.

i wouldn't mind an all class dreads but i know some P.O.S. would make it pirate themed. i mean i wouldn't mind an extra style for viking, pirate or englishman but i'd like it to be primarily hair.

White people wearing dreadlocks is cultural appropriation, as it involves adopting a hairstyle with deep cultural significance from marginalized communities, such as African and Afro-Caribbean cultures, without understanding or respecting its roots, perpetuating power imbalances and trivializing struggles faced by those communities.

least racist opinion by tf2 players
I'm not the racist here.

i mean it's still racist even though it's whites and vikings whom had dreads first so you'd be culturally appropriating from whites but honestly i believe culture should be shared, it's called cultural appreciation. maybe have some once in a while instead of being racist and stealing.

This is the most tone deaf thing I have read today.

ok if you hate mexicans, why would you wear a sombrero? people just like hats and think it's cool. it's not being tonedeaf, it's being realistic.
Why has a thread about styles turn into politics? More importantly, what happened to self-expession that you aren't allowed to wear certain styles?

What? Where did hate come from?!? This isn't about hate, none of this is about hate.
