I consider Medic's extreme strength a quirk of this game at this point. Sort of like the queen in chess is also overpowered. Contrary to popular belief, imbalances are fun, otherwise, we would probably play a glorified Rock-Paper-Scissors. Unbalanced games are often less stale than balanced ones.
Also, if we wanna nerf Medic, we should weaken the Crusader's Crossbow at close range. Burst heals outperforming Mediguns at Medigun range is stupid.
These are merely my opinions though.
What this dude said, a good medic is nothing without a good team and a good team without a medic can deal with otehr team that has a medic if they are smart enough. Medic is not OP
