TF2 window won't stay open (NEED HELP)

This just started happening recently. EVery time I open TF2 the window comes up with a normal black screen, I then hear the begining of the VALVe logo/song. And then the window minimizes. Sound can still be heard, and Steam shows that I am playing TF2. But everytime I click on the window to open it, the screen will be black, get slightly lighter, then blacker, and lighter again, and will finally minimize again.

Does anyone know what this is? What the problem is? and how to fix it?

it occasionally works. but its better. would like a concrete solution tho

1. Load Steam
2. From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
3. Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache... button.
4. Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes.
5. Once the process is completed, the Check Window will automatically exit.

had the same problem but it happened while playing, fault was in my video card driver

Mine did this about on 3 separate occasions, all within a month. It hasn't done it since. I do remeber fiddling with my anti-virus but I don't remember changing anything

this has been happening to me for a bit now and i can't seem to figure out why. i tried verifying integrity, uninstalling and reinstalling, and resetting my laptop. if anyone can help me please let me know

In my experience, you just open the window then click it again while its active.

But why tf are randoms necroing old ass threads istg
