TF2 Font issue
Okay guys,

So first off I would like to say - yes this is my fault. The issue is that after i downloaded my first HUD I was hyped on the prospect of enhancing my gameplay. I decided to try some work with skins and such. After downloading the first one and it worked I downloaded about 6 more putting them in their directed places. When I tried to load up TF2 again I was astonished to find out that my homescreen (shown here without hud) looked like this: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=350362417
It looks like the TF2 font files have become corrupt or something. After exploring further I am almost certain that the issue is a font problem. Because my custom crosshair is fogs crosshair #8 and my crosshair with the HUD on is just the number "8". I decided that the best way to fix this was probably just to completely uninstall TF2 and reinstall it. After doing so and the problem persisted I decided to try completely deleting ever steam file on my computer and reinstalling it. The problem is still persisting. I am using a macbook pro (if that helps) any help would be appreciated. I am so lost and I cant use the stupid #8 as a crosshair forever.

You're missing the font declaration (or the font file itself) for tf2's fonts. A lot of older huds will come with both but really if you deleted the hud it shouldn't persist.

I don't see where you're coming from with deleting the crosshair font though.

I'd suggest a custom HUD anyway, default is gross IMO. Try out YaHUD

yes but the problem persists HUD or not. The weird fonts are there no matter what HUD I use.

Download all the fonts under the "Fonts" section (should be 4), and see if that solves the problem.

I ran into this problem once. Why i said ONCE because I fixed it. It's easy. It is the font file is corrupted. Try reinstall fonts inside the TF2 files, there are instructions about it, or just reinstall TF2. If that didn't worked, then it is the Windows font fault. The last and the only resolution you have is to reset your PC/Laptop to it origins, there's also instruction about this to. Good luck :)

Now i am having this issue aswell(on mac) and I don't know what i should do? Is resetting my mac the only option? Did you(creator of the discussion) solve it?

I did solve it, this was so long ago, I think I reinstalled the TF2 fonts to my mac fontbook

I did something of the like... also got an alternate custom HUD, which seemed to help reset the font as well.

guys suprisingly this can also happen without any tinkering. THis has happened on all 3 of my accounts at different times for no reason. I think you tampering enhanced it, but it is primarily caused by the newest update (I think)
