It's ridiculous that these are items that you can buy, yet have a restriction placed on them. It's terrible marketing.
No, not really, TF2 has always been this way.
It doesn't make it right, however.
Limiting the items to halloween and special moon days only does not make them any more special. It really doesn't.
The items may be a large part of Halloween, but they don't make TF2 Halloween. The events do. The few christmas items there are has no restrictions placed on them and are buyable in store, yet arguably the best items, which are halloween related, are restricted.
It may have been there since the very start, but it sure isn't right.
