Is Training Mode broken?
First try:
I enter Soldier training, begin the firing range, and then the bots stop coming out to be killed and the training is suspended indefinitely. I noclip out of the small booth to find that all the bots are hiding behind the crates. I kill them, and I complete Soldier training.

The others are not unlocked. Going back to Soldier training just restarts the tutorial.

Second try:
This time, I don't noclip. The final bot hides behind the crates as well, and I do tf_bot_kill all. I finish training, but nothing is unlocked.

Am I doing something wrong here?

nah, don't worry about it

it's glitched for some ( half of us )

it just is

you don't really learn anything in there anyway

just jump into any valve server and you'll be learning faster then you ever learned :p

look at what everyone else is doing - then do the opposite and you will be supereffective

I'm only doing this for the achievement. I already have 800+ hours in TF2.

ah in that case

don't quote me on it

but i once heard it had something to do with the language you use for tf2

certain languages seem to trigger it into that glitch while others do just fine

google might be a help since i can't say for sure

( again don't quote me, it's only somehting i once heard a couple of months ago :p )

Kay, thanks.

"Ready for Duty" currently seems to be glitched. On another account, at first I had to exit/restart TF2 before I could go on to the next stage of Basic Training. Completed everything, but the achievement showed no progress. So started Basic Training over from scratch and when I Completed everything again in game Ready for Duty only showed 4/5 completed, After exit Steam showed 0/4 and in game showed 0/5 towards Ready for Duty.

Hey, same problem here. Soldier trainings mission is corrupted after second shooting practice. No targets appear any time after. How to handle this?!

Sorry about the necro, but I fixed it for me, if you're still looking for an answer after all these years. This is how I did it:

1. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf
(for Windows, but there's something for Mac and Linux)

2. scroll down to and open trainingprogress.txt

3. change all of the numbers to 1 in Notepad or your favorite Basic Text Editor

4. launch TF and take soldier training (continue)

5. once you're done, you should get the achievement

Alternatively, (I didn't do this, but it might work) replace it with this (soldier is 2, everything else is 1):

"TrainingProgress"
{
"scout"
{
"progress" "1"
}
"sniper"
{
"progress" "1"
}
"soldier"
{
"progress" "2"
}
"demoman"
{
"progress" "1"
}
"medic"
{
"progress" "1"
}
"heavy"
{
"progress" "1"
}
"pyro"
{
"progress" "1"
}
"spy"
{
"progress" "1"
}
"engineer"
{
"progress" "1"
}
}

It's what I have in my file.

Thanks a lot!

Also this thread should be necroed until Valve decides to fix TF2 instead of fooling around.

thats not necro. If you post really relevant information (such as solution to issue that was discussed all these time) it is a proper resurrection, if temporary. Necro would be meaningless messages like "I agree". So don't worry, you did good

I got the broken part on the moving section in first half of the soldier training. I fixed it by adding 1 bot and just killing it continiuosly and at the end i finished it. But now the second half is broken and i cannot fix it.

I didn't have issues with the first one, but I am with the second one.
