How to make TF2 look the best
What can I change in the TF2 settings besides the advanced video options to make the game look really good. My computer can handle preety much anything so what configs, console options, or anything else can I add to my game to make it look the best

High settings all, shadows, model, textures, etc

I already did all that in options. What can I do outside of options to make the game better. Like configs and console commands

Have you tried it, does it look better?

It looks really good. Althoguh it's sad they switched the mat_picmip from -10 to -1
I like the hwm as well, I can actually see the players mouths moving now

Good to hear! I'm running a config at the moment since I'm using a 144Hz monitor and I'd like to stay as close to 144fps at all times. Fortunately my PC is fairly capable and my game still looks fine! (Using Chris' DX9 config)

Be aware that you can get banned on some Valve servers for using Ultra settings because it detects it as a see-through wall hack. Here's a mod that improves the textures of models and some maps

You can also go on gamebanana and look for HD skins.

Really? You think they'd want to mention that on the Wiki!

I personally really like how mat_phong 0 looks. It disables phong shading, which in turn makes the game resemble the style it had before release.

Here's a picture that I found that illustrates it pretty well.

Valve servers don't detect things :P

I've never heard of any bans from ultra-high settings though. High mouse sensitivity maybe, but that'll make playing impossible.

Yeah, my friend got banned for using it on a Valve server. Reason for ban: Use of see-through wall hacks

Huds! Huds are great!

Should I undo the ultra high settings? All I changed was usehwm (which moves the mouths of players), buring gibs, new_impact_effects (which makes glass breaking better) and r_lod (which makes the details far away still good resolution). None of these should be detected as hacking :P

What setting was he using to make him get banned?
