Aspect Ratio Problem
I recently installed a windows 8 update and with it, my TF2 gained 2 black bars on the side of the screen like in old TVs. On top of that, i cant change it from 4:3 to 16:9, no matter how many times i click apply and ok. Any advice?

Your screen resolution settings may have changed when you did the update. If you set it back the way it was, this may fix the problem (if this is actually what happened).

I don't mean undo the update, just the screen resolution. Now, if the screen resolution did change, and that is what you want to keep, try posting your old and new settings so I have something to work with. Aspect ratio means nothing to someone if they don't know your screen resolution.

Okay, doesn't matter I guess anyway. What is the current screen resolution your computer is set to, and what resolution are you set to in TF2?

TF2 is 800 X 600
Screen is 1366 X 768

Well, change TF2 from that horrible 800 x 600 to 1366 x 768 and forget about aspect ratio. Now enjoyable the much clearer TF2 you are playing!

It only goes up to 1078 X 768, and even then nothing happened

Okay, here are a few things I would try. First, when you switch to 1078 x 768, did you then attempt to change aspect ratio? If you can, look back to see if the possible screen resolution options have changed. If not, leave it at 1078 x 768 and restart your computer (I'm doing some standard guesswork without knowledge of your computer or exactly what all you have done...just easier than 1000 questions).
